Squad Status

BPFC have a current healthy strength of 17 players (click above for clearer view) after the transfer season ended on 8th June 2008, Sunday. Recruitment is closed forever and Gaffer Ang hopes that this team will stay on through thick and thin in the coming years and even decades.

BPFC managed to snap up targetman Teo Yu Hao in a frantic end of summer transfer window. Yuhao has since declared himself available on Sundays, having previously placed under heavy scrutiny by the media for his holy commitments. With the recruitment of chief striker Teo, the striking department is strongly strengthened, now with 5 players competing for 2 positions, competition of places can only be a healthy one.

However, these 5 do not include talismanic forward, Song. The striker is currently going through a bad patch after a freak injury incident at the boon lay street soccer court during pre season warm up more than a month ago. In a routine twist and turn by the tricky striker on the court, his lower leg (knee and below), braked before his upper leg (thigh) could stop in time. In bizzare circumstances, the thigh then moved forward while his shin and feet stay rooted to the ground. What may look simple proved to be more than just a light sprain as the striker failed to recover after a month. His debut on 18th May worsened the injury despite not touching the ball and being on the pitch for only 36 seconds. His sheer presence boosted the morale of the teammates who then went on to beat PTI FC 4-1 on that day. SGH later on diagnosed that beefy striker lim will be out for at least 8 weeks, failing which he will require an operation to repair the damaged inner cartilage of his left knee.

Due to insufficient team funds, the club regrets to announce that song's physiotherapy or operation (touch wood) will not be funded by the club. The lack of funds was not helped by the fact that gaffer Ang believes that the collection of $2 last sunday was not complete. Due to poor memory and tons of admin work to tie up, Ang could not remember the last person who has coincidentally forgotten to pay up (haha just to kb pls don take it seriously). The team fund now boasts a fund of $5, sufficient for practically nothing, sadly.

Just some interesting numbers about the team.

7- The number of players who were born in the year 1988, Jackson, Xing, Oon, Alan, PY, Yuhao and Ang!
6- The highest price each person ever payed for a game, @ Fuhua Sec
5- The number of positions Sheng Jie has played for. DL, DC, ML, MR, ST
4- The number of goals that BPFC has conceded this season, coincidentally, it is the average number of goals we have scored each game.
3- These are the only 3 players, Zhi Kai, Joel and our beloved Song Yee, who won every game that they have played, for BPFC.
2- The number of penalties given away, of whom steven and ang should be guilty.
1- The number of games which the security guard has attempted to stop us from playing.

Current scorers:
4 - Steven, Bing Xian
3 - Alan
1 - Xing, Yun, Favian, Shuheng, PengYong
