BPFC 3-2 YueFang? FC
Scorers: Favian, Shuheng, PengYong
Assists: Guoxing, ?, ?
Disclaimer: This article is just for laughs and is by no means criticising and insulting any particular player or team.
A lack of players meant BPFC had resort to loans to ensure that we have sufficient players to start the game. And for the first time in the history of BPFC, we played a game without a referee. Well done.
Jackson remained in goal. Chewyi and Ang play at fullbacks whilst Kai and Kel centrehalves. A last minute boost by the return of midfield maestro Guoxing was sufficient to lift team spirits up by at least 50%. Partnering him in the centre of the park was Raymond whilst PengYong and Favian took left and right flanks respectively. Shuheng and Alison completed the lineup upfront.
It was confident play from BPFC as we took the lead early on. Back in action right winger Favian timed his run and an inch perfect through ball from Guoxing totally caught out the defence. An instinctical (I just invented that word) tap on from Favian was sufficient to push it pass the onrushing goalkeeper to make it 1-0 to BPFC.
It didnt took long before the second goal came. And a classy goal indeed. Constant chasings from strikers Alison and Shuheng saw them win balls time and again from the opposing defenders. Shuheng broke free from the defence somehow, i cudnt really remember how, and continued his run down the left. Even though it was a one-on-one, there were still many work to do for the striker-turned-defender-turned-striker Shuheng. However, he repaid faith for the manager's trust and duely showed the world how a lob should be done. Using practically the outside of the right foot, a superb touch was sufficient to send the ball over the keeper and right into the net. Certainly a contender for goal of the season. (Even though after the game, the striker admitted that it was a fluke as that was intended as a pass to Alison). Nonetheless, it was still a good goal.
Confidence became sky high in the BPFC team as there were many moments of brilliant play from the team. The team exchanged confident passes and the wingers were released on numerous occasions after great balls from all over the pitch. Shuheng so nearly made it 3-0 for BPFC only for the defender to clear if off the line. He unselfishly played the ball for Alison despite being one-on-one withe the goalkeeper and coincidentally, the pass was on its way to goal as well. This is what make a good striker. Even a pass can end up on target. Can you do it?
Shuheng was like a possessed ghost after an excellent performance as a striker. He has everything u need as a striker. Hold up ball, chest and lay back, link up plays, finish off moves. Now you tell me, is there any other attributes do you look for from an ideal striker? The answer is no. Shuheng is the best striker.
As the game goes on, BPFC's lack of fitness was relatively apparent compared to the 6-7 NDU players the opponents had. However, BPFC's defenders showed the other side of them. Not once, not twice, not thrice but Frice did the defenders clear/block off the line. See, its so many times until there isnt an English word to describe 4 times such that the editor had to introduce a new term to the world of English.
First, a good cross from their left winger was cleared on the head by Kelvin who was running towards goal. Follow my description and picture this in your head. You are running towards goal. Now a high and fast cross comes in. You need to clear it in the opposite direction u are running towards. You probably take 20 years to master that. But no says Kel. He showed the fans at Woodlands Ring Sec exactly how to execute such a header and clear your team away to safety. A highly technical skill indeed.
Secondly, a goal bound shot was cleared off the line by right footed left back ChewYi.
Thirdly, a corner came in and was well connected by the opposing attackers. But at the end of the day, it was still due to Jackson's excellent judgement that saved the day. And some of you might be wondering, is it Jackson that cleared the ball off the line? I thot the writer said it was the outfield players that had cleared the balls? So why did Jackson had a good judgement? Read on my friends. Here's the reason why. Jackson single handedly picked out PengYong to stand at the post to defend the corner. And indeed PengYong was the man who blocked the ball off the goal in the end.
"I knew i had chosen the right man." Exclaimed Jackson in chinese.
Therefore, i have proven to you that Jackson has a good judgement.
And last but not least, the self proclaimed save of the day goes to the right back who wishes to be unamed in order to keep himself low profile. In a frantic goalmouth action, the player was at the RIGHT place at the RIGHT time, and no wonder he is called the RIGHT back. How apt is his position. A powerful shot less that 6 yards away was bizzarely cleared by the head of the right back who was standing at the post. He threw his head at the ball to put it into safety and saved a certain goal for BPFC. And the team rejoices by shouting "Well done lah Ang!" HAHAHA
And as usual, Xing was able to weave his own magic as stepovers and quickfeet proved to be a little too hot handle for the defenders.
The Kel Kai partnership in the central of defence was rock solid. It was equivalent to a Rio and Terry defence as they covered well for each other everytime. Significant clearances from Kai even included a bicycle kick and numerous interceptions to thwart the opponent's plan once and again. Even right winger Favian commented on Kai's tremendous improvement ever since his absence.
Unfortunately, BPFC gifted a goal to YFFC after a small miscommunication between Chew Yi and Jackson saw chewyi putting the ball into his own net. 2-1 at halftime.
Wah actually type until here damn shag liao.
The second half was somewhat a different story. If you are thinking that i only write about praises, then you are wrong.
The Rio and Terry defence went missing and in came Tom and Jerry. Bounce is bad and i shant elaborate any further.
They soon equalise out of nowhere after their attacker made use of the space they had to unleash an unstoppable shot pass Jackson. It was a really good shot by the opponents.
It was a wakeup call for all players after the slack display after having took the lead. It was a game we had to win for Kai and win we did. PengYong got the winner after some amazing display of individual skills in the box and later on unleashed a left footed shot pass the goalkeeper from close range. He has proven to be one of the more consistent goalscorers and with topscorer Alan now being stuck in Tekong for good, PengYong is slowly climbing up the goalscoring charts after a slow start. (Actually i lost count dono who is top scorer liao.)
A paragraph should also be dedicated to striker Alison. Despite not scoring or probably even registering any shots in the game, his contributions to the team was not to be doubted. The manager has specially taken time off to praise the striker despite the player himself casting doubts over the Gaffer's control of team funds and the number of balls we have. Benevolent indeed is the Gaffer. (dono how to spell benevolent). He chased, he shackled, he dropped backed, defended, link up plays with wingers and the list goes on. You sometimes rub your eyes twice to see if that is Alison or is that Berbatov. Its hard to dy/dx at times.
A good win for Kai and also the absent Bing Xian. For those players who have been missing out, your place is seriously under threat as there have been vast improvements in the new positions which the players have taken in your absence. Competition breeds improvements.
The gaffer has also decided to make financial statements more transparent.
Today's collection: $5 x 10 players + $25 from opponents = $75
Payment for Field: $50
Leftover from today: $75-$50 = $25
Overall: $25 + $57 = $82.
Disclaimer once again: This articles serves no intentional purpose to praise or criticise any player. Its all in the name of kaobeism and fun which the writer strongly believes is the way towards a healthy lifestyle.
And now to something serious. As i was browsing through the site stats for this website, i came across a truly interesting discovery. As i was clicking on the 'Came From' link, the following popped up:
www.google.com.sg/search?hl=en&q=%22steven OON%22 NS&meta=
www.google.com.sg/search?hl=en&q=%22STEVEN OON%22 OFFICER&btnG=Search&meta=
www.google.com.sg/search?hl=en&q=teo yu hao&meta=
In case you are wondering what 'Came From' means, it actually refers to the sites the web user has been to before landing at our blog. To think that someone actually googled "Steven OON", "steven OON OFFICER", and "teo yu hao". Its hard not to come to a conclusion that this has been done by a non-male person and is seeming having a crush on our 2 beloved BPFC players. Girlfren of these 2 players, please take note. Your boyfriend has been spied. Perhaps we should just post pictures of the 2 of them then maybe our site stats can jump like crazy everyday as the girls will keep coming back for more pictures.. somewhat like how a porn site works. haha. It leads one to think that a BPFC fan club might be secretly in the making and one day we might just see our pom pom girls right by the sideline. But one just cannot figure out why hasnt anyone googled for Ang Zhi Yuan... hahaha. Alright tt was just being lame. But seriously, someone actually went to google for steven and yuhao.. interesting neh...
