Influential players out

For the first time in BPFC's history, it was a one-man show for the man of the match award for the previous 4-2 win at Sembawang Sec. 7 votes against none, the only better reason I could think of is that you guys wanna vote for me due to a sublime goal but becoz i didnt put my name there, you guys had no choice but to vote for the next better player! Alright, a fine performance from the influential centre mid Xing saw him cap off a wonderful afternoon with an individual move finished off with a well placed shot beyond the reach of the keeper.

However, it was soon followed by bad news as the injured Lem declared himself out till May despite being unchecked by club doctors. The club does not wish to pursue any malingering cases but warned its players that the act of malingering can lead to dire consequences. We wish the mercurial midfielder well wishes in a bid to recover from MULTIPLE injuries, one of which is not easily treated by rest or drugs, however, time heals all wounds.

The other only natural centre mid and newly declared MOTM GX has also ruled himself out for most games for now on due to a full time contract with a retail shop that requires him to work on weekends. Unfortunately, due to the club's poor financial status, we are unable to outbid the retail shop for a full time contract with the club's star player. To the dismay of many fans, the skills and talents of GX might not be on show for a good period of time.

Journalist: Do you think you can cope with the loss of key central midfielders in GX and BX the X's?
"We are now like Arsenal without its key midfielders in Cesc Fabregas and Arshavin, toothless in attack and unable to hold defensively. Indeed, both players' importance to the club cannot be underestimated. However, it takes character to stand up in times of crisis and be counted for. I believe whoever is being picked to replace them in the next game will have the ability to rise up to the occasion."

Journalist: There has been rumours that the club is looking into the transfer market in a bid to strengthen the team, most notably Ben Foster after Jackson's recent blunder at Sembawang. Is that true?
"Bullshit. All my players are handpicked by me and they are here to stay. All human makes mistake. Just like you did when u asked me this question."

Without further hesitation, Gaffer Ang was seen storming out of the conference room. BPFC's players are thought to respond positively at the Gaffer's comments.

The recent abscence of singing leftback Joel Yeo has raised certain doubts amongst the players regarding his commitment to the club. However, in his absence, Joel has proven that he had real business to deal with all along. In a presidential election yesterday, Joel has been appointed the VICE-PRESIDENT of the prestigious NUS choir for the next academic year. (most parts of this post might not be real but this is a true piece of news.)

It remains to be seen whether Joel can bring his leadership abilities to the pitch especially after the absence of Xing and BX meant rock at the back Yun will most likely be handed the role of a holding midfielder. In times when the goals conceded record has been shaky, the fans are looking towards Joel for inspiration for being the next commanding centreback at BPFC amidst his new appointment in NUS choir.

Thats all for today's news at Strikes' times. Stay tuned for the next issue.
